Oftentimes, government agencies request sets of as-built drawings in order to issue building permits. Many structures built in the past or added extra components on them without permits and inspections by the Department of Town Planning and Housing. These as-built structures even if old architectural drawings exist, they pose unique problems and must meet the current building code minimum requirements.
