3D Surveying of the former WAYNES building in Nicosia

The building that previously hosted the Waynes cafe in Egkomi, Nicosia is set to undergo restoration to transform it into a new establishment.

In order to renovate and repurpose this building into something new, an accurate documentation of the existing condition of the building was critical.

For this reason, Geoimaging ltd was consulted to produce the as-built architectural drawings of the building. To achieve this, 3D laser scanning technology was used to create the 3D model of the existing building. The result and benefit of implementing 3D laser scanning technology for building renovation projects is in producing a better and more detailed survey on time with overall lower cost.

On-site laser measurements, combined with GPS data collected by our skilled personnel, were post-processed in-office to produce precise and detailed as-built 2D CAD floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections. Additionally, a manipulable 3D model was created, compatible with software such as Revit for further visualization and analysis. Our final deliverables allowed the architect as well as other engineers and interior designers to plan, redesign and approve with actual measurements.
